I do not understand why some are so liberal with the "delete" feature!
Other than deleting to correct an error, or to take down an offensive post (made in error or in bad judgement), for the life of me I cannot understand why posts get deleted by the poster.
This is particulary true when posters are making an offer for an item or multiple items, they get a response or two and then delete the original offer. Or when they seek a particular bit of information (like someone's email address) then delete the original post. Or ask a value on a chip, get and answer and then delete the original post, leaving everyone to wonder what the response answer was about.
This is especially true when large discussion threads are established and the continuity of the entire thread is diminished or GREATLY perforated by a massive deletion of point/counter-point posts.
Since this post will not likely get comments from those who commonly do this (and if it did, the comments would soon be deleted) I am therefore asking those of us who do not behave in this manner (which I call the "taking my ball and going home" attitude) if you are bothered by actions?
Again, this is just a pet peeve of my own. Perhaps your pet peeve is posts like this.
So, I ask, what are the comments about expunging your own messages?
Thank you,
Jim Follis
