I have the HP PSC2510 (its been replaced by the 2710). Its a multi-function machine including a scanner, inkjet color printer (photo quality), and fax. It replaced an HP Officejet which was another of the same type.

The good - wireless or wired network. I use the wireless setting so there is 1 less wire in the office leading from the computer to the printer. Works well.

The good - good quality print, not laser quality - but perfectly acceptable. Good color, especially with the photo cartridge.

The good - has memory card slots for taking the compact flash card out of my camera and printing directly from the printer (ok, I've only used it once).

The good - for a quick single page copy in B&W or color. Pop the paper on the scanner and press the button.

The good - cartridges are available pretty much everywhere for this thing. My local Walmart sells them (type 57 I think). So I can get them pretty late at night if needed.

The bad - flatbed scanner is sub-par. Perfectly acceptable for paper or photo but not nearly the color depth I would want for chips so I have a second scanner (and 2 more wires).

The bad - faxing a multi-page document from a flatbed scanner is not as easy as putting a bunch of papers in the sheet feeder. You put a page on the scanner, scan it to memory, go to the next one, repeat until complete and then press FAX. (on a mini good - no paper jams cause theres nothing that can jam).

The bad - cartridges are pricey, but since you've specified HP then you have some experience on it.
