When all is said and done, there will be PLENTY of people to point the finger at.
I am a retired NYPD Emergency Services Sergeant. I dealt with disasters of all shapes and sizes, and I think I have a handle on what the logistics are and what steps are taken when trouble is possible. Someone explain to me how the MAYOR and GOVENOR of a city/state could possibly advise people who CANT evacuate to go to the designated shelter (Superdome) AND that designated shelter IS NOT PREPARED with the food/water or security to shelter the evacuees? UNFORGIVABLE, and to me, tells me all I need to know about the ability of the local government to prepare and protect its citizens from a disaster.
Plenty of blame to go around. Lets start right there.
