Can the Las Vegas Hilton or any casino in Nevada for that matter reuse chips in the casino or in this case the poker room that are considered officially retired?

I would think that after a casino issues a redemption notice and after that redemption notice expires that those chips being recalled could no longer be used legally in the casino or turned into the casino cage for cash.

Am I incorrect to this assumption?
