I can't believe I'm going to wander into another political minefield, but...
At this moment in time we should not be pissing and moaning about Bush or Clinton, but concerning ourselves with all the people who are still very much at risk in New Orleans, the Gulf Coast or in the Middle East.
It is Ok to disagree with the President, or anyone else (it is as American as Apple Pie), it OK to make a Joke (and the joke was funny), and I believe you can disagree how a resource as valuable as our soldiers and sailers are used, and still support and admire those dedicated to serve.
But for all the various people out there, who want to use the horrible catastrophe in the South as a reason to bash Bush, SHUT UP.
The government doesn't control the weather and even with twice as many people, you still need to ship the supplies, and men, and other resources. I don't care who was President, the Government needs to churn into gear, and it isn't instantaneous.
If things could have been done better, OK, then we make the needed changes so next time (God forbid) we do it better. But now is the time to deal with what we got. I am not a fan of Bush, but he at least deserves the opportunity to get the job done before people complain.
Those that are making criticisms now are doing so on spec, or are victims who just want help and are understandably inpatient
If you want to complain wait till the children are at least safe and fed, until then Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way.
And for you humorless punks, it was a JOKE, and I like Phyllis's daily humor.
