Food and water ARE being distributed. People providing help HAVE ALREADY ARRIVED. And, yes, more are on the way. Unfortunately, people standing in line and receiving help aren't as newsworthy as the people who are still in peril. The news broadcasters are always going to show you the person still stranded on a rooftop instead of the 10 people who have already been rescued.

It's a helpless feeling to watch people in trouble and not being able to help them ourselves right now, but we CAN help by sending a little money to the agencies who are on the scene and providing help already.
