Price has dropped over 50% on this chip since I began collecting 10 years ago. I paid $275 for mine. Today they frequently sell in the $100-125 area. I can only speculate that they were overpiced before but controlled by just a couple of dealers, not an unusual situation in our hobby. Another factor is the on-line auctions which have created a more transparent market for lots of semi-scarce chips like this one.
