I just returned from a road trip to New York. We drove back on I-40. We stopped for the night at Shawnee, OK and when I found out the casino was only five miles away I just had to stop in for a visit. This was my first visit to one of the Southern Indian casinos. I checked at the cage but was told I had to buy chips at the tables. I now know why they have so many 50 cent chips down there - who ever heard of having to pay 50 cents a hand to play blackjack??? I thought the 6-for-5 payout in Las Vegas was bad. These guys are dealing from a six deck shoe and still need to get an extra 50 cents on every hand - that must give the house percentage a good boost! I did pick up a pair of dice - just souvenir dice - but I guess they'll have the real thing soon since I saw a full size craps table in the bingo room on the way out - I understand they are waiting for some kind of approval before they can put it in play.
