From the receiving end perspective...
Envelopes make it here all the time, and I have had no problems with the mail coming here. I received a chip today from Kansas City in a bubble envelope and the total cost to ship was .60. No big deal.
The one thing that I will say is that unless you ABSOLUTELY have to, leave the value low, and call it a sample or a gift. Otherwise, our somewhat communist government will keep the package hostage until we pay a sales tax and about 7$ for them to open it and make sure it's not banned.
Canadians like US money. It's pretty and it allows us to buy things there without having to exchange and get hosed by the banks here. Paypal works up here, and lets folks like me do transactions in a single currency.
I'll reserve all my ususal sarcasam relating to dogsleds, igloos and snow for another post!
