I prefer using a scanner. You can get smaller file sizes, and great detail. Keep in mind two things; the file size, and the actual display size of the scan. You don't want to have people waiting a long time for the scans to load, and you don't want people to have to scroll to see the entire stick. Remember, lots of people are using dial-up. I reduced the quality of my scans so they loaded faster. I could probably get away with a bit better quality, but I was leaving it so that I could add many more and still load fast for the "dial-uppers". Make the size so that it's viewable entirely. If you like a black backround, just leave the scanner lid up while making the scan. Darker swizzles don't scan as well.
Decide if you like them horizontal or vertical. I prefer vertical, just like they'd be sticking up in the glass.
Personally, I have TONS of swizzle sticks that I haven't put on. Thats the same for ashtrays, dice, matches, Silver Strikes and about everything else on my site (except chips) I keep the chips up to date. I just decided to hold off and leave it for right now as just a sampler instead of a reference source Thats why I only put one representative of each, instead of each color. . Ok...also because I always have 18 other projects I'm working on at the same time.
