I received several California chips from Albert Scalzo's recent "Chips at Face Plus a Ridiculously Low Shipping Charge" offering - these are absolutely beautiful. Two Bay 101 (San Jose, CA) poker chips with the GoldFoil inlay, a term I coined when I asked Jim Gagnon what the gold foil circle inlay on many of the California chips was called, and he said "A gold foil circle inlay". Also, one of the nicest chips in my collection, an octagonal Hollywood Park Year of the Serpent (2001) $5 chip, simply stunning. I was just at the Hollywood Park casino last week, it's only about 3100 miles away from home, and asked them about the octagonal chips - they just smiled, shook their heads, and said "No".

The deal with Albert was arranged on the evening of August 9, and here it is August 13 and the chips are already here. Plus, I am now the most popular boy on my block as I took them to a poker game today and was showing them off.
