I worked at the Nevada Club from 1972-1980. We were never paid by check except for Christmas Bonus[Pit Boss and above]. When I dealt and even after I was promoted we would receive our pay envelope stating hrs. worked, rate of pay and deductions. We were paid in cash and never with $50 or $1 bills. If a $2 bill did not cover we would receive an "Ike".
While dealing tokes were collected by the Pit Bosses and turned in at the office to be cut. Yes, many rumors that they weren't all given out to us. Cash from your Toke envelope would be dropped into your hand when you left at the end of your shift and you would be told when to come in the next day. We all worked 6 days year round and no early outs.
LK liked me and I was well treated. I would have not moved to Atlantic City if it hadn't been for his age -82 and myself not getting along with his wife "Meta". A few years after leaving Fitz died and within a few months I received what he had put in my Pension-which was supposed to not happen unless one worked for hom for 10 years.
