Well, I finally made it home. What a great week it was!!!

First thing Tuesday morning I was strolling around the casino looking for someone to eat breakfast with and found Alan & Diane Myers. We went to the Peppermill for breakfast, then I sat down and played poker at the Riv with Alan for about 3 hours. That was a great way to start the convention week and it just continued to get better.

Thanks to everyone who came to my Tuesday night shin dig at the Palms. There were around 150 or so that showed up and it looked like everyone had a pretty good time. Thanks Gene for helping with this and for passing out the shirts. I thought the staff in the restaurant was exceptional and it seemed like we were all served pretty quickly.

The club banquet was a blast as usual. We had an excellent speaker. At the banquet we inducted Mike Skelton into the Hall of Fame. Mike has worked very hard for the club for a LOT of years and is truly deserving of this honor.

I set up the webcam Thursday morning, just before the show got started and other than a minor outage when my laptop went into sleep mode, I think it ran non-stop until Jim Follis shut it down for me on Saturday. Although the picture was 4 times bigger than last year and refreshed twice as often, I am still not real happy with the quality and intend to look into a better solution for next year.

Saturday I missed the show and played in the BARGE NL Holdem tournament at the Plaza. There were a few other chippers there, Andy Hughes, Jay Sands and Ross Poppel. There were also some big poker names there like Greg Raymer, Andy Bloch, Susie Isaacs, Lou Krieger and many others. I was a tad bit intimidated to say the least. I did pretty good in the tournament, didn't get in the money, but lasted for 6 hours and ended up in 32nd place out of 230.

Something I ate Saturday must not have agreed with me. I ended up in bed by about 9:30 that night and slept for about 12 hours. Sunday wasn't a very good day, but felt much better by evening, just in time to pack.

It was great to see everyone again. There are too many names to mention, but you all know who you are. I really enjoyed playing live poker with a lot of the people that I've been playing online with every Wednesday night for the last year or so.

Thank God we get to do it all again in just 10 months. See you then!
