Ed: I wasn't at the Convention this year but if you say that he was sitting outside the bourse floor then he wasn't participating in the Convention. The Convention is a "members only" event. The daily fee for "non-members" to enter the the bourse floor constitutes a one-day membership. Therefore, all non-members who are not barred from entering who pay the one-day entry fee are members for a day. Does this help?
