Your post brought back a few memories:
Like "curb feelers" and "steering knobs." Since I'd been thinking of cars
Suicide knobs
Power-Glide transmissions
Chevrolet's ad slogan: "Smartest Make You'll Ever Move" (I think it was 1964.)
...unmentionables
panties, bloomers and step-ins
snuggies and long drawers
the word "pregnant" was once considered
a little too graphic
Expecting
Carrying
Technically, supper was the meal on Sundays that followed Sunday dinner. As a kid, everyone said "supper" every day of the week.
Early TV Commercials:
Ivory Soap: "Make this year nineteen thrifty three..."
GE washers: "GE Filter Clean, Cleans and Recleans."
Serutan is natures spelled backwards. (What the heck was Serutan.)
Does anyone remember the Tachistoscope from school?
Now I really feel OLD...
