Out of one squinting bloodshot eye and said "We was out on the town last night, a hootn' and hollern'. That beach has a mean left hook."

Honestly, I've had mostly good experiences and many funny ones when asking for chips. Two stand out.

One I asked if I could buy some 50c chips, the dealer says I don't know... calls the pit boss (if you can call a place with about six tables, three with players, more than a pit?) The boss says, sure, all he wants. I said give me four bucks worth. The guy just shakes his head, It Takes All Kinds look, and I walk out. The dealer is still just lookng at me, like "what a nut!"

The other one was a poker room. I ask and the guy says I have to sit in the game. I buy in for $40, get dealt and ace down and one showing, seven card stud. call the first bet $3... get a stinky card FOLD, pick up and leave. I figured how would it look if I sat, won the hand, and got up. I didn't want to be rude, didn't want to play with the local vultures.

Best of the sad stories. I finally get ahold of a casino manager at a small place, small town, after trying for three years. He says, "Oh you should have been here a few months ago, we destroyed all the foreign chips and tokens we had been keeping for 10 years! Wrote them off..." He said no problem if I just call him a few days in advance, next time I'm in town.

Red Light district in Elko is behind Stockmen's somewhere. (didn't do this research on my own) I was told by some of the guys I went with one trip, that's where the cab driver took them. I've never ventured around the block to check this out.
