I'd guess that Lazar had fewer chips than Matusow. So although Matusow pushed all his chips in, when Lazar went all in and couldn't cover the full bet, Matusow got some of his chips back. I don't know that's what happened but it seems a likely explanation of how Matusow could have stayed in the tournament despite losing this pot.
