Last month I made a post concerning this new personal chip "dealer" and wanted to give an update.... and also I want to get her name out to the masses one more time.

To make a long story short, she bought over $300.00 worth of Air-Tites from us in late May. We had been talking and negotiating for a couple weeks, I even sent her sample pieces so she could make sure the Air-Tites fit her chips.

Anyway, she placed an order and paid by check. Of course, she needed them ASAP so I told her I'd send the Air-Tites immediately if she would send her check the same day, which she did.

As you can already guess, the check bounced.... I ran it back through again... same result. I have called her number numerous times, sent several emails, sent two certified letters indicating my intention to prosecute, filed a "Bad Check Crime Report" with the 17 Judicial District Attorney in Henderson, Colorado.... no response, no money.

To top it all off, the DA told me that since the check was mailed across state lines there was nothing they could do to her! He said "if you had been in Colorado and she handed you the check personally we could take action against her, but since she mailed the check out of state there is nothing we can do."

So this brings up a very interesting question: What's to prevent ANYONE in Colorado from buying something online, via phone, via catalog, etc. then paying with a hot check?

I have now contacted a collection agency and hope that they will be able to collect.

WARNING TO ALL: Be careful who you accept checks from. This person was very slick and came across as a true professional.... Seller Beware.

Hope this will prevent some of you from making the same mistake I made. PLEASE do not send this person harrassing emails, phone calls, etc. since I am still attempting to collect. I am only posting this so that all of you can avoid her, and not to slander her or form a posse' to gang up and harrass her. Hopefully I'll eventually get what she owes me, but if I don't, I'll get over it.
