Hi all; just wanted to let the Tunica collectors know a new "Grand Opening" chip was recently issued by the newest casino in Tunica, Resorts (formerly Harrah's Mardi Gras and before that, the old Southern Belle). I was unable to procure any unused ones from the cage so I bought some from a dead craps table. The boxman spent several minutes looking for some because the sides of the chip looks EXACTLY ALIKE the original house chips! He had to break down several stacks of chips to find the ones I bought. I asked but nobody knew the count of the new chips. They said they were released on June 18, which was their official Grand Opening Day. The GO chip has an interesting feature; one side has a hologram which is a first for Tunica chips. The chip on the left shows the holgram side; the one on the right shows the "regular" side. By the way, the scan makes the side of the chip look pink but it is actually red.
I noticed a few being sold on by a seller through "Buy It Now", at one $5 chip @ $8.50, plus $1.50 postage (total $10). I will be glad to sell the ones I have for one $5 chip at $9, two for $16, including all shipping. E-mail me directly if interested.
By the way, I still have a few of the unique $2 denomination blue Hollywood Tunica chips, of which I sold several at one for $5, two for $9, shipping included (thanks to all you chippers who bought one or more!). Let me know if you need one of those. The message link for that particular chip is: http://www.thechipboard.com/cgi-bin/tcb/tcb.pl?read=430332
Quick question; should I be calling these items "chips" or "cheques"? Thanks! Jack
