You might want to check out www.cutepdf.com. Its a free PDF maker (http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp). There are two files to download and install but when you are done you have a new printer installed on your machine. Simply do a normal FILE|PRINT command and select this printer. It will create a PDF file for you.

I've found that most people have a PDF reader on their machine and this makes it easy to send documents of all types.
