The best deal I ever got on Ebay was for a $1 Riverside casino in Laughlin Nv. With "Free" UPS shipping it set me back a whopping 37¢. The hot stamp on the chip was 99% gone but I had to have that chip. It was just too funy to me to pass up.. I bid a max of 50¢.

I'd suggest that if you find a chip that you "just gotta have" determine what you're willing to pay for it, look up the current value, and then place your bid accordingly.
