Hi All....I started chipping almost a year ago, and I have spent ALOT of time looking at ALOT of auctions on eBay. I've collected some real nice chips, good some pretty good deals, and have been burned a couple of times by some shady characters.
I have yet to find something really neat at a steal price though.
That is until last week when I came across this auction. When I first saw the auction, there was only a day left, and there were no bids on the chips. I thought for certain there were the newer Four Queens reproduction chips, but I could not tell from the photo as the quality was so poor, so I emailed the seller. I almost gagged when I saw his response, and then watched in horror as my question and his answer wound up on the auction page, lol!
Anyway, the CHIPS (holy smokes, I still can't believe there are TWO!) came today and my jaw dropped. I have one of these already in average condition, and most I see of this chip on eBay are average at best. These most definitely are not. They are a little dirty, but have all the cross-hatching, sharp edges, and nice, centered, clean inlays.
I feel a little bad for the seller, though, (he is most definitely NOT into chips) and I think he kind of knows now that I got a steal, but he did the right thing and completed the transaction anyway.
I don't have a scanner, and I will try to take some digital pictures of the chips and post them later.........
