I think what you're saying sounds right, but there's one small problem. The metal inlay in your chip (and mine) says "Silver Anniversary". The Silver Anniversary of the WSOP was 1994 (won by Russ Hamilton, and if you recall, his weight in silver was added to the prize for 1st place).

Now, perhaps TCR is mistaken, and this is actually a '94 chip. There is no date on it, but the "Silver Anniversary" gives it away.

I'd be very curious to se more information on this.
