I would not be interested in a chip in a slab under any circumstances. I would not pay for any grading service to anybody / business / club.
The problems with "altered" chips can not be detected by the naked eye in most cases so a review by a committee would not work if they did not also have the necessary equipment (xray, etc).
Committee membership would also be a problem. From the info I have seen posted, the inference is that some of the so called "experts" are part of the problem. Hard to know on this without names which requires proof. What we really need is for club members that have that proof to step forward and provide it to the BOD.
