I think you paint with way too broad of a brush. There are many more "older Nevada chips" that are not suspect than are. I suppose someone in your position is only looking for the real hard to find ones that have a higher potential to be "fixed." An awful lot of us newer collectors can still find some great pieces of Nevada history that there really isn't any reason to suspect that they have been tampered with - not enough money in it to bother with. I, for one, have no intention of giving up on "older Nevada chips." I do appreciate your cautions though and do intend to be pretty selective.
I sure wish you guys would name some names of the dealers who are willing to sell our hobby down the river for a few bucks though. I suppose in our wonderful "sue em all and sort it out later" society you can't take the risk.
