I collect downtown Las Vegas chips. I know many of these repaired chips you are warning us about are from LV. So what do you propose I and other similar collectors do, give up the hobby? Even a written guaranty is only as good as the person who signed it and then only if: I can find him, he is alive, he agrees it's repaired, he wants to honor it, he is capable of honoring it (could be broke), we agree on a value. A guarantee is just a piece of paper. I won't buy good mint chips since you have said so many are faked. Could you at least give us an idea what other clubs we have to stop collecting even if you don't know the specific chips?
Frankly Gene and David, I appreciate your warnings, but just saying vague things like "thousands are repaired" doesn't help if you can't be specific. As you've left it now anyone collecting old Nevada chips has to just stop, or be ripped off.
