has happened to me twice. Buyer pays twice. Realises his mistake, doesnt know what to do and contacts paypal asking for one to be cancelled. This takes some time. During that time you see the double payment and refund one. The paypal cancellation comes through for the other. In ebay the item is still flagged as paid. Buyer thinks his emails from paypal and you regarding refund relate to the same payment.
