There are strict statewide laws against smoking in public places in New York. Personally, I don't smoke, but I don't mind people who do. It just seemed way out of place when many people were lighting up inside Akwesasne Mohawk Casino up in Hogansburg (very north part of the state, near the bridge to Canada). I asked a craps dealer how they could get around the New York anti-smoking laws, and he said it was very simple: "By not being part of New York State."
