"You do NOT want to be a roulette player, playing roulette & TAKE chips!"
The difference is that I doubt that those who take roulette chips really care if they are barred from playing roulette at a particular casino. I know I did not, even though I was never caught. Besides, if they are caught once, then they just make up an excuse & give the chips back & don't do it at that casino again. There is not any risk.
When it comes to poker tournaments there is the risk of being barred from future tournaments.
It boths cases WE know that there is no intent to defraud anyone. But, the casinos might not see it that way. So, in roulette there is nothing to lose, in poker tournaments there is everything to lose. Bottom line is that everyone has to decide for themselves. My post was not meant as a post saying what is the right thing to do. It was simply for those who enjoy playing tournaments & letting them know that they could be putting any future tournaments they want to play at risk by taking tournament chips. Andy - Las Vegas
