I was wondering How the Mecca chips that we all have got their ID. Who knows that for sure? There was a Mecca cafe in Covington, Ky as well as Newport in the 1940s and Ed Carr was partners in both the Mecca and the Ky. Club. These listings from a 1948 city directory show that. The Ky Club chips are a positive ID and since there was gambling there it not a hard guess to think they had gambling at the Carr brother's Mecca. Some chips in a case were found recently with Mecca and horse chips. The Ky Club also had horse chips. Coincidence?.....Anyone with thoughts on this?
