A week ago, while in Las Vegas, we went on the train ride that had been featured in Nevada Magazine a few months ago. For those of you that like a diversion from the gambling scene, this is a really enjoyable take-in. The location is not too far from the Railroad Pass Casino in Henderson.

EXCURSION train rides depart from the Nevada Southern Railway station (off Yucca Street) and travels 3.5 miles west along the historic Boulder Branch Line to Railroad Pass located within the River Mountains range. The round trip (7 miles) lasts approximately forty-five minutes in duration where passengers will be able ride in newly refurbished (air conditioned) Pullman Coaches dating back to 1911.

Once there, click on Division of Museums and History. At the lower corner of the Nevada map, click on "Nevada State Railroad Museum, Boulder City" and you'll find selections to click on that will give you the schedule, fares, etc.
