Your welcome!
The MGM poker room was the first casino I've played poker in, and I'm afraid that no others will match it!! I visited rooms in the Excaliber, Flamingo, Luxor, Aladdin, and Sahara (monorail ride to visit the Stratosphere), and although I didn't sit and play, no others could compare.
Also, for all you Pai Gow players, the Luxor raised their minimum bets from $5 to $10 on all of their tables. Speaking with the Pai Gow manager, she said that since Luxor was bought (by MGM I think), they were told that table games would be raised to $10 minimum. The only other $5 tables (Pai Gow) that I found were at Barbary Coast, where I usually play, but there was some terrible smell in the casino that I just couldn't tolerate. I know that Barbary Coast is not the fanciest casino, but I always enjoy playing there and usually have pretty good luck. But WOW, the smell was terrible. I ran through $100 at a $5 Pai Gow table in about 45 minutes, which usually lasts me at least a couple of hours. Maybe the smell got to me, and I made my bets too big just to get out of there quickly!!
Another interesting note, is that when I sat down to play Pai Gow on Wednesday, after a couple of hands, a lady at the table was dealt 4 aces and the joker. This would have paid her $10,000 had we been on the Fortune progressive table. She didn't realize what she had, and when I told her what she would have won if we had been seated 2 tables over, she couldn't believe it. Actually, I think she got a little mad that I told her, that she would have been better off being in the dark.
Anyway, I had a great trip, although not very much luck as I came back $400 lighter from losses. But I saw some good shows (KA at MGM, Copperfield at MGM, and We Will Rock You at Paris, which by the way is awesome...I really recommend it to anyone wanting to hear some great singing), and had some great meals!
I just might have to go back later this year, as I don't want to wait another year to visit the MGM poker room!!
