I agree 100%.
Many chip dealers at the convention will have what we call junk boxes with 100's of chips at $1 or $2 each. I have found more than a few gems in them. Sometimes you have to get in line to go through them.
If someone thinks those are in bad shape they should see some illegal chips we collect. When it comes to 60 and 70 year old chips, you take what you can get just to get a new illegal you don't have. I just bought one for $2 (I think from you) that no one in the world but an illegal collector would buy. I could barely see the hot stamp but it was a real prize to me because I did not have one from that casino.
8 or 9 different examples of chips for $11 are a bargain to a lot of collectors, especially new collectors.
Enough said. Collect what you like.
