Last weekend, at a local garage sale, I picked up a small box with the following pokerchips:
They are small embossed chips, about 1 1/4" in diameter. I can't tell what they are made of.
I have spent some time looking these up on the internet and I believe most, but perhaps not all, have been included in Dale Seymour's book (which I do not have). From what I found on Mick Cuddy's web-site, the yellow chip is PC-RS and is called "Stop Monkeying." It appears to feature 2 dogs and a monkey playing poker. The orange deer is PA-GR. Robert Eisenstadt lists it as AGR 233 and sells them for $6. The black line in the scan was a hair on the printer, not damage to the chip. The brown deer is not shown on either site. The colors are quite distinct, and the brown has no hint of orange in it. I have multiples of both the orange and brown and I believe they are the original colors, and not faded. The colors are even throughout each chip and consistent between the chips. I do not know the code for the pink lighthouse chip. The backs of the chips show the denominations. The Stop Monkeying chips show a "50," the two deer chips have a "10," and the lighthouse has a "5." Here is a scan of the reverse sides:
The woman that sold them to me said they were from the 1930's to 1940's. Does anyone have any more information on them? I would be interested to know the manufacturer, material they are made of (they are dirty, but in great shape), years they were made, where they were made, value and anything else I can learn.
And yes, I will consider offers if anyone wants some.
Thank you.
