Our Los Angeles freeways have become both frustrating and scary. Whenever my family plans an outing, not only is it usually 40+ miles away but you have to factor in an additional one to one and a half hours due to the prospect of heavy traffic. This causes us to alter our plans in many cases. Also the possibility of getting involved in an accident is rapidly increasing, especially with the SUV drivers who think they are Mario Andretti behind the wheel of a Ferrari at 85-90 mph. Forget about being out there after 11 pm. That is when the gang bangers, racers, and idiots are loose on the road. It is not uncommon to see a group of racers fly by at 100+ miles per hour, not to mention the brainless in our society who now seem to get you involved in an altercation, only to shoot you dead! Lovely society we have created.
