Barona is only about 20 minutes from downtown San Diego in "Lakeside, CA"

Harrah's on the otherhand is a bit further (past Barona)It's around 40 minutes from downtown San Diego. I believe Harrah's has a free shuttle that will pick you up from a number of San Diego locations.
