There is no Federal equivalenty of a gaming control board which ensures that gaming is clean.
At Turning Stone they actually had a booth with gaming agents -- of course the agents are employees of the Oneida Indian Nation, who are the owners of the casino. If you had a dispute would you feel that the gaming agents were impartial?
My favorite thing about Turning Stone was that one day they imposed a 5% sales tax at their restaurants and gift shops. So I asked an employee where the tax went the Answer -- "To the Nation" (meaning the Indian Nation).
I thought this was great. They own the casino and the restaurants and the shops. So instead of marking up the prices another 5% they claim it is a sales tax. This way customers don't feel like there was a price increase, and because many people would assume that the sales tax was going to the State of NY, it helps alleviate the complaints of many that the Indians get an unfair edge against non-indian business that have to charge sales tax.
