Thanks for participating. I will have an even bigger contest for the June Tyson fight - watch for it.
James Toney 69-4-2 (43 KOs) won his fourth world title Saturday, dethroning WBA heavyweight champion John Ruiz 41-5-1 (28 KOs) Saturday night at Madison Square Garden. Ruiz chose to work from the outside while Toney pressed the action. The fighters split the early rounds. Toney charged out of his corner in round seven and was credited with a knockdown of Ruiz, although replays showed Toney stepped on Ruiz' foot. By round eight, Toney seemed to be breaking down Ruiz. There was a good exchange at the end of round ten. Toney landed some big right hands in round eleven. Ruiz was unable to get to Toney in the last round and looked exhausted at the end. Scores were 116-111, 116-111, 115-112.
