You may want to consider leaving adaware on your machine. You should still be able to run the app your cable provider gave you and run adaware on a rotating basis.

In addition to working and going to college, I fix peoples computers on the side. The biggest problem I see is malware/spyware and the tool I have found to work the best is adaware. If Adaware doesn't take care of the problem then all that is left is blowing out the hard drive and reinstalling windows.
