As I recall, the Dunes went bankrupt. The attorneys had the chips in storage for a long time... two or three years. At one time, they thought they would (could) sell time to individuals and a bunch of us who frequented the chip collecting board on Prodigy were all ready to buy a few thousand. They they found that Gaming wouldn't allow that and the sale was off. Jerry Wall was able to get a bunch of them through a contact, and they all of a sudden, they were all gone. They were available at Gamblers General Store for while when Bill Akeman was there. I believe Spinetti ended up with the bulk of them and is still selling them as far as I know. Most chip dealers have some to sell from the inventory that was finally released.

Where do chip collectors get them? They buy or trade from them, just like any other chip.
