Why wouldn't you leave extra if the service justified it? The added tip is not a personal affront to you. If the world was a better place a tip would not need to be added but unfortunately you are probably not the majority but the minority. I waitressed many years and it is hard work. If your server gave you better than average service, why not throw in a few bucks if you feel it is warranted? Are you trying to punish the server for the need to add a tip for the deadbeats out there?

And bad service should not be rewarded. I agree 100%.
