Murph,
I typically tip 25% in restaurants. On the Chippers Cruise last October, a 15% gratuity was added to my bill for every beer I had, yet I still toked the bartenders an additional dollar for every beer.
Playing poker, I tip at least a dollar every time I win a hand. While playing at AZ Charlie's over Superbowl weekend, I made an admittedly snide remark when another player only tipped 50 cents after winning a pot worth about $150. That player changed seats to move right next to me and he got in my face with a verbal barrage loaded with the "f" word. The room manager heard the commotion, summoned security, and had ME thrown out of the room! The local player could do no wrong, and the dealer sat there silent, even though the original comment was to his benefit.
Tournament poker. If I'm wrong, please correct me, but aren't the dealers being paid a salary and getting a slice of the prize fund? If so, any tokes on top of that would be triple dipping. If a winner wants to tip, fine. ...and I don't think 2% would be insulting or insufficient.
