These guys took a silly idea and made it into a obsession for a lot of us and I want to say thank you. I met Dick at several of the AC Club meetings and he was always fairly serious, knew his chips, and had great ones at that. I had saved chips over the years since AC casinos opened but did not know about the club until one day I heard about Bob Mera's store. I walked in and WOW! I was hooked. Every once in a while I think about Bob and what he did for this hobby. A store on the boardwalk, bringing in new collectors so prices would rise, the great bid board auction, and his stories. Oh he was there to make money, but for the number of new collectors he started down this road, he worked far too cheap, and lived far too short a time. Whether you liked these "charater's" or not, we all owe a great deal to them.
