What I know for sure is that the long cane $100 & $500 at the top were definitely made after the casino closed.
What we may never know is exactly what was in use at the casino.
Osbornes comparitively short runs of chips would have been made all at one time and surely each denom would all have been made on the same mold.
It confuses the issue that every other Osborne is short cane. IMO this was deliberate. Although the request was that the chips be "as close as possible to the original design", I believe BJ and PS would never have made precise copies. Every other counterfeit differs in some way. Hence I believe the short cane $500 is genuine.
I have seen many $100 and $500 chips in uncirculated condition that definitely came from casinos.
I continue to look at every one of these chips I get the chance to. If and when I get new 'evidence' I will keep the article up to date as I said I would.
