I was surprised to see this episode. I collect tokens, but did not know there were so many high-denomination tokens from Nevada that were reproduced.
The fellow was a good engineer but a poor systems integrator. He didn't think through the part where the casino's inventory of tokens would be increasing.
Obviously the mechanics of the operation could be repeated. I wonder how many times it has been done and never discovered?
Might be better opportunities in the chip area. Collectors deplete the inventory of chips all the time. All the counterfeiter needs to do is be sure he doesn't pass more at a casino than have been removed by collectors [g].
