When I was kid in grade school in the early 50's in Highlands NJ, I used to set up pins (by hand) in a local bowling alley for a nickel a game. While we used an overhead rack to put the standard bowling pins into after each roll of the ball ... duck pins were somewhat different and more work. I recall having to step on a bar which raised small pegs in the alley to position the duck pins on, one by one.
