I picked up a few poker chips with a very common eagle design. The thing I thought was unusual is they were all without paint. I found two different variations of the design and in a few cases one eagle was one one side of the chip and the other eagle was on the reverse. I always thought the variations in simmilar designs were made by different manufacturers copying anothers design, but in this case someone was using different molds on the same chip. My questions are. Who made these chips? Which design is older? Was it common practice to mix molds on cheap chips? Are there any experts on old poker chips with some thoughts on this?
