The Avenue horseshoe tokens are aluminum. About 1 inch by an inch and a quarter. Many Northern Ky. horseshoe tokens are also brass. The 25 cent waiter's check is brass.. Do you know if odd shaped tokens appeared in other parts of the country? In the Cincinnati-Northern Ky. area they had shapes like horse heads, bells, chickens, fish, horseshoes, shields...etc etc. By the way Clifton, Ky was the area up on the hill which is now South Newport.
