I've done some research into Joplin. My ex's family came from there and a few still remain. As you may or may not know, Joplin was a miner's town, and many of the gambling joints were cash games and did not use chips.
The House of Lords was world famous at the time, but I have not seen any chips come out of this place. If they exist, I believe they would be pretty fancy ones since they did everything top notch. The gambling operated until 1922 when the place closed down due to Prohibition. It reopened later, but I have not found evidence that they had gaming.
The Mansion House was more of a brothel, but they entertained the waiting patronswith some games. Apparently this house was smack dab in the middle of a nice neighborhood. The locals were not all that thrilled with the ladies plying their trade on their block. The Mansion House was moved out of Joplin in 1896, so I doubt they used custom chips.
The Southern Club was a small club in the back of Wilder's Restaurant. I've talked to a few people, who worked there, but none have confirmed the gambling activies.
I do have some other Joplin chips, but I don't have access to my database at work (I believe a Rex Club comes to mind). I'll post some tonight.
Below is a chip from the Southern Club. The others are monogrammed "SC".
