Knowing the person that sold those chips I am certain that he would have allowed the buyer to return them for almost a full refund. Given that the next highest bid was $1,000 less than the winning bid he would have been most foolish to seek another buyer rather than try returning them to the seller. There are some pretty foolish folks around but they rarely pay $6,000 for a set of three casino chips. I still think it is a scam....
